Sunil Gavaskar ( Cricketer, India )
The way he faced killer pace bowling of Imran Khan, Joel Garner, Michael Holding, Malcom Marshal,Richard Hadlee, Andy Roberts, Denis Lillee, Jeff Thomson, Bruce Willis on grassy, sometimes under prepared pitches without wearing helmet is impossible for any Indian present day batsman. In terms of technique, he is the all time greatest batsman the world cricket has ever seen.
Vivian Richards ( Cricketer, West Indies )
Rightly called the "King". The only batsmen in the history of cricket who humiliated one and every bowler around the world with his aggressive batting. Scores of fours and sixes are hit by today's batmen, but the way "king" Richards did that was different. It is a humiliation when the batsman sends your best ball to the or over the fence with utter disdain and complete negligence. He was giant of a batsman. Just like his physical build. Another Richards never to be seen on the cricket field.
Kapil Dev Nikhanj ( Cricketer, India )
Greatest cricket all-rounder India has ever produced. Under his captaincy, India won the World Cup in London. By his own sheer talent, he led from the front, slamming heart-stopping century against Zimbabwe and taking that extraordinary catch of Viv Richards in the final running almost a 'mile' ! But for the unfortunate decision of captain Gavaskar in Kolkata Test, Kapil could have set a record of playing most numbers of Test Cricket non-stop. Such was his physical fitness. In today's bowlers and all-rounders such fitness is not seen. Another Kapil ? Are you nuts ?
Pele ~ greatest footballer ever
Football is synonymous with Pele. If there was no Pele, football would not be the most popular sports in the world as it is today. Speed, skills, control......as if it was magic. He is incomparable.
He is God for every footballer anywhere. Immortal sportsman, this Pele.
Evan Lendl ( Tennis Player )
Unlike his contemporaries and present day mega stars, this highly talented tennis player was not pompous and never played to the gallery or press. His gentleness and cool head is what makes him my favourite tennis player.
