Baishakhi mela at Kuri Pukur ( also called Kuri Puskurini ) near Amtali, Agartala, is held every year on the first day of Hindu calendar year. It is said that since the time of Rajas of Tripura i.e. monarchy this mela is being held on the 1st day of Baishakha every year. Situated along the Agartala-Sabrum NH road near Atmtali, there is a big pond here and a little temple , and around this pond thousands of people gather to enjoy themselves, eating jileppis, singara, bora...all local foods... and buying beautiful dolls and toys for their babies.
